Privacy Policy

sortOTT is a free, non-commercial directory site that helps you discover where movies and TV series are available to stream. This policy explains exactly what data is collected when you use the site, why, and what we do with it.

The short version

• We do not require you to create an account or log in.
• We do not sell or share your personal information.
• We do not show ads (during the current non-commercial phase).
• We collect anonymous, aggregated visit statistics so we know which pages are useful.
• If you choose to subscribe to email updates, we keep only your email address and use it solely for sortOTT announcements.

1. Information we collect

Anonymous usage analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and pageviews. This tool is privacy-friendly and:

• Does not use cookies
• Does not track you across other websites
• Does not collect personal identifiers (no name, email, IP address stored)
• Only stores aggregate metrics like page popularity

Email address (only if you subscribe). If you click the Subscribe button and submit your email, that email is stored in our newsletter list. It is used exclusively to send sortOTT product updates. You can request removal at any time by emailing us (see Contact below).

Server logs. Our hosting provider (Netlify) keeps basic request logs (IP address, requested page, timestamp) for security and operational purposes. These are retained for a short period per Netlify's standard policy and we do not access them for marketing.

2. Information we do NOT collect

• Your name, address, phone number, or government ID
• Your viewing history or which titles you click
• Your account information from any streaming service
• Payment information (we don't charge for anything)
• Cookies for tracking, advertising, or profiling

3. Third-party data sources we use

sortOTT pulls movie and series data live from the following sources:

• The Movie Database (TMDB) — for titles, posters, synopses, and ratings
• JustWatch (via TMDB) — for which streaming service has which title in your country

These services may collect their own usage data when you click links that go to them. We have no control over their privacy practices — please refer to their privacy policies if you have concerns.

4. Links to streaming services

When you click an OTT logo or card on sortOTT, you are taken to that streaming service's own website or app (Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, ZEE5, Sony LIV, JioCinema, etc.). Once you leave sortOTT, this privacy policy no longer applies — you are subject to the destination service's privacy policy.

5. Your rights

• Access: Email us to ask what information we have stored about you (essentially: only your email, and only if you subscribed).
• Deletion: Email us to request removal of your email from our subscriber list.
• Opt out of analytics: You can use a content blocker or your browser's "Do Not Track" / privacy settings — Cloudflare Web Analytics respects these.

6. Children

sortOTT is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us their email, please contact us and we will remove it.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Substantial changes will be flagged on the homepage or sent to subscribers via email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision.
